Home Cookin'

BREAKFAST
Blueberry muffin from yesterday.  It's going to be a major practice in self control having 12 of these babies hanging around the house.  I froze 8 and threw 4 in a Ziploc bag and I shall be munching on these throughout the week!
LUNCH
Last night when I went on my baking fest I also make some actually food without sugar.  I tried, for the first time, to make a Tofu Chili in the crock pot.  The chili I make for Boyfriend is always so amazing but it is with high fat meat so it pretty much does not fit into my food "philosophy".

All in all it good.  It had it's ups and downs.  I don't think I could really taste the tofu.  Next time I'll cube it rather then mush it.  I didn't like the corn addition that much either.  I threw it in last minute because it's been sitting in my pantry for months and I though I was on to sometime.  The corn wasn't terrible but I don't think I'll do it again.

FOOD FIND!!!!  I am addicted to Reddi Wip Fat Free Whip Cream!!  It's my crack.  Coffee, fro-yo, hot chocolate, pudding...I put it on EVERYTHING!!!
My Whole Food's trip the other day resulted it the discovery of this baby:
It's so yummy!!!  If you microwave it, it gets "foamy".  If not then it's like like whipped cream and it has a nice sweet vanilla flavor to it.  I'm in LOVE!  AND....it's 0 calories!!!!

GYM
Little workout.  Nothing wonderful, but not terrible at all.  I'm starting to get bored of running.  I think before I kill my will to workout I'm going to switch to some other form of cardio so I don't puss out.

DINNER
I had the Perfect Oatmeal with dried fruit topping at Starbucks for dinner tonight.  SO DISAPPOINTING!!!  I guess it's because I don't have my array of peanut butters and pumpkin to spice up an otherwise bland dish.
I probably won't be doing a Saturday or Sunday post anymore.  I'm too busy on the weekends and I have to give myself some "cheat" days or else life would be boring.

SWEETS 4 MY SWEET

This is disgustingly cute!!!  I caught Boyfriend and Cat sleeping on the couch together last night.

BREAKFAST
Quick, small breakfast to absorb some of the alcohol left over from last night's mini bar hop/crawl.
1/2 NATURE'S OWN THIN SLICED 100% WHOLE WHEAT BAGEL + 1 TBSP FAT FREE PHILADELPHIA CREAM CHEESE + 1 OZ. PACIFIC SMOKED SALMON

LUNCH

2 TBSP CEDAR'S GARLIC LOVERS HUMMUS + 1/2 ZUCCHINI + 1 OZ. BEETS + 28 GRAMS RADISH SPROUTS + 1 CUP EGGPLANT + BUDDING FIX QUIX GRILLED CHICKEN CUBES + 1 CUP RED CABBAGE

DINNER

WESTERN BAGEL PLAIN ALTERNATIVE PITA + TRADER JOE'S TZATZIKI + 4 VEGGIE PATCH FALAFEL CHICKPEA BALLS + TRADER JOE'S FIRE ROASTED YELLOW AND RED PEPPERS

Last night I had a rush of domestic urges come over me and I made AMAZING brownies and yummy blueberry muffins.  The Brownies have a mini peanut butter cup in them and they are iced with cream cheese icing!!!!  I will NOT be touching these.  These are reserved for the Boyfriend.

The blueberry muffins, however, are all for me!!!  They are filled with fiber and very low in fat (2.5g) so I'm allowed to indulge on occasion.  I'm going to freeze these and see how long they last.

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY

I've been eating terribly lately and skipping the gym!!  I'm getting back on track and to prove that to myself I kicked my butt at the gym today.  IT WAS AWESOME!!!

BREAKFAST
Unpictured tiny bowl of Pumpkin Oatmeal with Raisins!!!

LUNCH
In my effort to force myself to eat yogurt, I bought this the other day.  I actually like it!!!!  I threw in some blueberries and had a nice little protein boost after the gym!

Stopped by Whole Foods before the gym and picked up these babies, Justin's Nut Butter!!!  I was so excited to find them.  I've looked for them before in the Peanut Butter isle.  Didn't realize that they would stack them near the hot foods bar which I discovered today while picking up my weekly Wednesday veggie buffet!!
DINNER
At home sushi goodness!!!
75 GRAM AHI TUNA + 4 OZ WHOLE FOOD'S SEEWEED SALAD + 1 CUP TRADER JOE'S MISO SOUP

Kicked my own butt today!!!  It felt so good.  Haven't run 5 miles in at least a month!!!  This was a wonderful way to work back into the world of good eats!

As a reward for my butt kicking action I went to a little bar crawl yet again.  Wednesdays are becoming badness! lol

Monday Monday

No weekend postings!  Too busy and didn't really care.  Today was lovely.  Had the day off and spent it with Boyfriend.

BREAKFAST

2 CUPS PUFFED WHEAT + 5 GRAMS DRIED BLUEBERRIES + 1 CUP ALMOND BREEZE ALMOND MILK

After breakfast I went to The Lafayette Hotel down the street from me that lets the locals use their pool.  It's really cute and they have a little mini bar at the pool so I treated myself to a vodka soda with lime while basking the in the rays.

(You can kind of see me in Boyfriend's sunglasses!)

After the pool I stopped at Henry's Marketplace for some fresh berries on sale!!!  Blackberries, Strawberries, and Blueberries, Oh My!!

Couldn't help myself but pick up some protein powders because they were 25% off...I HAD TO!!!
I also finally saw the new flavors of low fat, low calorie cheese wedges from The Laughing Cow.  They look tasty:)  I'll let you know my review when I can figure out exactly what I want to do with them.

LUNCH
Used my new spiralizer to spaghetti style some zucchini squash and made a sauce out of some baked, pureed eggplant.  REALLY GOOD and so light and healthy!!!  Leftovers will definitely be consumed tomorrow.

Another wrap utilizing foods about to expire.  I'm really loving the La Tortilla wraps!!!
LA TORTILLA FACTORY LOW CARB WHEAT WRAP + TRADER JOE'S GUACAMOLE HUMMUS + SPINACH + CHERRY TOMATOES + MORNINGSTAR CHIK PATTIES

DINNER

Went to the Santee Drive-In with Boyfriend!!!  It was so much fun!!  It's one of our favorite places to go.  Double feature for only $8 a person!!!  Can't beat it.  Boyfriend has a BIG truck so sitting in the front seat with him is like cuddling on a couch.  We saw Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Robin Hood.  They were okay but I love the drive in so I don't really care if the movies aren't excellent.

First time at Sonic Drive-In as well.  I've always seen commercials for this place but never knew where one was.  One opened up in Santee last year and I just now got a chance to go there.  Verdict: It was okay.  Totally NOT HEALTHY but Boyfriend and I rarely spend a night together because we both have opposite schedules so I blocked out the calories and just had fun!  I had a burger, tater tots with chili and cheese, and a Snickers milkshake that we brought into the drive-in theater.

NO GYM!!!  Had way too much fun today but I will pay for it tomorrow with some kick a$$ HIIT.

BEST DAY EVER!!!

SO EXCITED!!!!  Details to follow....

BREAKFAST
Bought some Van's Whole Grains Berry waffles forever and a day ago when they were Buy 1, Get 1 (I love a sale!!) and wanted to finish the last of them.  Why I haven't eaten them sooner, I can't say.  They were sooooo good and really filling!!  I saw on their website that Van's also makes Van's Totally Natural French Toast Sticks!!!  MUST FIND THESE!!!

2 VAN'S BERRY WAFFLES + 1/4 CUP RALPH'S SUGAR FREE MAPLE SYRUP + A FEW SPRAYS "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER"

GYM
One of my favorite gym visits in awhile.  I rode my bike over to the gym and did 45 minutes of some light HIIT work on the treadmill along with some standard ab work.  Boyfriend took me away from the gym prematurely once more because I needed to move my car so that he could get his motorcycle out of the backyard.
I am starting to believe that exercise makes you happy!  I felt amazing and accomplished when I left.  Coupled with the bike ride, I burned 500 calories in like an hour.

On my way home I couldn't help but stop by Whole Foods.  I think I'm an addict.  I just love walking around with my ipod and looking at all the yummy healthy eats.  I told myself I wouldn't get anything unless it was on sale.  I didn't do too bad, though I have to admit that some of my purchases were full price.  The Cedar's Garlic Lovers Hommus (favorite hommus to date) was 2 for $5 which is a deal because one runs for $5!

SHAKE
A mash-up of things I had lying around the house.  I put in a blend of frozen berries that I had and the seeds kept getting stuck in my mouth!!!  Not bad, but not one of my favorites.
1 PACKET AMAZING GRACE GREEN SUPERFOODS + 1/2 SCOOP DESIGNER WHEY 100% PROTEIN SUPPLEMENT CHOCOLATE + 1/2 CUP TRADER JOE'S BERRY MEDLEY + 1 CUP ALMOND BREEZE UNSWEETENED ALMOND MILK

DINNER
I was going to make a pizza out of my favorite Flatout Multi-Grain Wraps but I was feeling the need for something with a bit more substance.  I made a bomb-a$$ wrap with a new hummus that I got at Trader Joe's the other day: Guacamole Hummus!!!  It's good!!!  Really good!!!  5 stars for this wrap!!  Definitely a repeater!
1 MULTI-GRAIN FLATOUT WRAP + 50 GRAMS CHERRY TOMATOES + 35 GRAMS SPINACH + 2 TBSP TRADER JOE'S GUACAMOLE HUMMUS + OVEN ROASTED TURKEY BREAST CUBES

When I got home from the gym, this guy was waiting for me!

Can't wait to make "spaghetti" zucchini!!!

HUMP DAY

DINNER
Trying to get rid of some "fridge campers" (aka old food) that have been sitting in my fridge for 2 weeks.  I put together some BBQ fake chicken and "mashed potatoes".

MORNINGSTAR FARMS GRILLERS CHIK'N VEGGIE PATTY + 1/4 CRUSHED PINEAPPLE + 1 TBSP BBQ SAUCE + 1 CUP CAULIFLOWER MASHED POTATOES (PUREED CAULIFLOWER + 2 TBSP FAT FREE SOUR CREAM)

POST WORKOUT SHAKE
1 CUP ALMOND BREEZE UNSWEETENED ALMOND MILK + 1/2 MEDIUM BANANA + 1 PACKET EQUAL + 1 TSP BETTER N' PEANUT BUTTER + 1 SCOOP TRADER JOE'S + 1 PACKET

GYM
Little ab work, little run.  Felt good!  I wanted to do a few miles more, but boyfriend went to the gym with me and wasn't feeling well so I had to cut the session early.

SNACKS
Bought these Special K Italian Tomato & Herb Snack Crackers today.  While they were good, and the stats were nice, they are MUCH smaller and thinner then the picture on the box will lead you to believe.  Next time I think I'll throw a piece of Laughing Cow cheese on these crackers.  That should be yummy!

Boyfriend had an awesome idea to have some smores around the fire pit...okay...his idea was to light a fire...i threw in the part about the smores...and wine!  It was so lovely except when we came inside we STUNK of campfire!

LAZY DAY

I don't know why, but I just can't seem to get over this lazy feeling I have.  No desire to go to the gym, no desire to move much at all.  I'm not even motivated by the idea to go grocery shopping at Trader Joe's!  I was so lazy that cooking today was pretty much out of the question and meals consisted of prepared everything!

BREAKFAST
Leftover berries, Green Tea, and a Strawberry Banana Yoplait Light Smoothie that I've had in my fridge for like 3 weeks.  I actually liked it!

LUNCH
Leftover Memorial Day fare.

1 CUP CUCUMBERS + 1 TBSP RALPH'S FAT FREE SOUR CREAM + 2 TBSP WHITE VINEGAR

100 GRAMS ROMAINE LETTUCE + 8 OZ. ROMA TOMATOES + 2 TBSP TRADER JOE'S FAT FREE BALSAMIC VINEGAR

2 HEBREW NATIONAL 97% FAT FREE HOT DOGS + HENRY'S WHOLE WHEAT HOT DOG BUN

DINNER
A bought a pre-made frozen Indian meal from Henry's the other day and thought I'd give it a try.  It was really good, but way to small to be actually filling for me :(

B.E.A.C.H. Wonderful new "diet" plan by Dr. Oz!  It's just a collection of concepts that you should practice if you are looking to lose weight or even just to make your diet healthier.  I think I'm a health/food junkie because everything I read lately is telling me something I already know...now if I could just remember to do what they say!

Ordered my Spiral Veggie Slicer last night!!!  So excited!!!  Can't wait to start enjoying all my faux pasta recipes.
