HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly.
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset   glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

There was no tracking yesterday and today due to the holiday weekend and me really not caring about eating well!!!

I went out Sunday night and did a bar crawl!  I had a blast and even danced in FOAM!

Monday Boyfriend and I went to the beach and had a backyard BBQ with an electric grill and Sangria!!

Drinking Sangria with a CRAZY straw

Grilling up some chicken and hot dogs!  Tofu salad from Henry's was amazing.

Boyfriend flipping the yams

Cat had an amazing time stalking bugs in the back yard!

So much fun!  Back to reality tomorrow...

Sunny Saturday

Today was such a beautiful day here in San Diego!  It's be so blah so far this year but today was so lovely.  Part of my happiness of this day might be due to Boyfriend and I actually spending some time together during the day.

We went to Koby's Swap Meet at the San Diego Sport's Arena.  It was crap, but fun to look at all the crap:)  I actually bought something.  I needed ink for my printer because my printer seems to suck down ink the way I do diet coke and I got a decent deal on it.

BREAKFAST                                                                                      I woke up at 1 pm today so my "breakfast" consisted of berries that I had left from yesterday.  I am going to be so sad when berry season is over.  I have found a way to incorporate them into every meal I've been eating.  Today was just fresh, hulled strawberries!

LUNCH
After the swap meat Boyfriend and I went down to a new fish market that opened on 30th Street in the North Park section of San Diego.  Anyone visiting San Diego MUST check out the eats and drinks on this street!!!  There are the most amazing and fun restaurants and bars on this stretch.  One of my absolute favorite parts of San Diego.  We went to North Park Fish Market and Grill and it was so TASTY!!!

I had some Miso soup but no picture because it wasn't very interesting.
Then I had a side salad with ginger dressing, as did Boyfriend.
(I don't think Boyfriend was amused by me taking pictures of him eating!)

And for the main course, a delicate piece of Grilled Chilean Sea Bass with steamed veggies.  It was perfect!

Boyfriend had Grilled Swordfish with a side of white rice.  His fish was good (though not as good as mine), but I was mad at his rice.  White rice?  What a waste of stomach space!

SNACK
Mock apple pie with peanut butter! AKA Microwaved Red Delicious Apple, with Sugar Free Maple Syrup, and Cinnamon.

RED DELICIOUS APPLE + 1 TBSP CINNAMON + 1 TBSP RALPH'S SUGAR FREE MAPLE SYRUP + 1 TBSP BETTER N' PEANUT BUTTER

Addicted to these little suckers!  First time I had this flavor and I LOVE it!!!
FULL BAR COCOA CHIP

Welcome to the Roaring 20's

Today was the 20's bash so I had to get everything done early so that I had plenty of time to get ready. I love when I have all my little chores done early so that I'm not running around like a crazy person all day.  My "chores" were very exciting (not sarcastic at all!).
(1) Cleaned the Sugs' cageEw!  Love them dearly but they are the dirtiest little creatures.

(2) Cleaned car. I practically live in my car so this chore is a frequent necessity.

(3) Mealies for the Sugs. It's taken me a while, but I'm finally over feeding live "creatures" to my little men.

(4) Gym. Took my "fat ride" to the gym.  This way I don't have to worry about parking and it gives me a nice little warm up and cool down.
BREAKFAST
Good ole Pumpkin Oats with Raisins and a cup of green tea while reading the headlines of the day!

1/4 CUP OATS + 1/2 CUP ALMOND BREEZE + 1/4 CUP CANNED PUMPKIN + MINI BOX SUN MAID RAISINS + 1 PACKET SPLENDA WITH FIBER

LUNCH
1 CUP ALMOND MILK + 1/2 MEDIUM BANANA + 1 PACKET SPIRU-TEIN POWDER + ICE + SPLENDA WITH FIBER
NEW POWDER!!! 5 Stars!!!  But really, how could you go wrong with something with the words "chocolate" and "peanut butter"????  Tip for bananas: I cut them in half and freeze them so that I always have some bananas on hand for my shakes.  They last for a month or two and it's much easier then making sure that I always have them on hand.  They seem to ripen way too quickly otherwise.

DINNER
Strawberries are 97 cents over at Henry's this week so I'm doing it up berry style.  I know the big Tupperware doesn't do the salad justice but I find this easy to mix the dressing around.  Just snap on the lid and shake.
6 OZ. BABY SPINACH + 6 OZ. STRAWBERRIES + 4 OZ. BUTTERNUT SQUASH + 4 TBSP ANNIE'S FAT FREE MANGO VINAIGRETTE

GYM
Some nice ab work and a bit of HIIT with the incline on the tredmill.  Perfectly content with today's performance!

Red, Red wine...

Flowers "Just Cause" from my Boo today:)
Got my costume together for the 1920's party.  All I had to do was buy a hat so it made it really easy.  I have so many costume type stuff from various costume parties that I was able to put a kick butt outfit together with cloths that I already had.

It was so beautiful today for most of the day then around 6pm the sky turned gray.

BREAKFAST
I was craving some fruit for breakfast, but alas I ate all my berries so I just had a simple sliced Golden Delicious apple and it was in fact delicious!!  Matched with a cup of Cinnamon Roll flavored coffee and that was breakfast.

LUNCH
Finally found a combination which makes this La Tortilla wrap taste good!!!  I went with a Mediterranean feel for lunch and it was sooooooo good!!!

LA TORTILLA WRAP + 1 OZ. TRADER JOE'S FIRE ROASTED RED PEPPER + 1 OZ. BABY SPINACH + 2 TBSP TRADER JOE'S TZATZIKI + 1 TBSP BANANA PEPPERS

DINNER
My friend, Matt and I decided to have a backyard BBQ so we made some hot dogs and sweet potatoes.  Weird combination, I know, but we were trying (at least I was trying) to stay a bit healthy.

97% FAT FREE HEBREW NATIONAL HOT DOG + WHOLE WHEAT BUN (90 CALORIES!!) + ONE SWEET POTATOE + 2 GLASSES RED WINE

SNACK
On-the-go pack of Blue Diamond 100 calorie pack of almonds!  It always surprises me how a hand full of almonds can really fill you up.  I think that after I go through the 4 jars of peanut butter I have, I'm making a temporary switch to almond butter.  Trader Joe's has an Almond Butter with Flax seeds and it looks amazing!!

GYM
MONSTER WORK OUT TOMORROW I PROMISE!!!

Busy Bee

BREAKFAST:
Bagels that were about to go moldy + Egg Beaters that were about to go bad = BREAKFAST!!!!

NATURE'S OWN THIN SLICED 100% WHOLE WHEAT BAGEL + 1/2 CUP LUCERNE BEST OF THE EGG + LAUGHING COW GARLIC AND HERB CHEESE

I was running around all day trying to find a costume to wear to a 1920's party.  I was going to do flapper but I think the gangster mob thing is much cuter.  Haven't bought anything yet but I have tons of options.  Tomorrow I will solidify my costume.

GYM
Did a little light lifting and some ab work at the gym today!  YEAH!!  Cardio sucked because the machines were all full but I did some stair work.  That is rough but totally effective.

DINNER
Oh my favorite part of the day!!!  Whipped up a protein shake after the gym but it turned out more like protein frozen yogurt.  Was I disappointed?  HELLZ NO!!!  PROTEIN FROZE YOGURT ROCKS!!!
1 CUP LIGHT VANILLA SILK SOY MILK + 1/2 FROZEN BANANA + 1/2 PACKET CAPPUCCINO PROTEIN POWDER + ICE + 1 PACKET SPLENDA WITH FIBER

Taco-less Tuesday

UGH!!!  Must get back on track!!!

BREAKFAST: Feeling something filling and pumpkin tasting (big surprise) so I microwaved some canned pumpkin with some almond milk.  After it was warmed and mixed I added some puffed wheat and raisins.  Kind of soggy, which I expected, but still yummy.

1/2 canned Pumpkin + 1 cup Almond Breeze + 2 cups Arrowmills Puffed Wheat + Mini box Sun Maid Raisins
DINNER

This was amazing and I'm very proud of it!  Simple yet so tasty and light!  I made a fry-less Chicken Parm with a side of every satisfying butternut squash.  This is definitely a repeater!

3.4 oz. Skinless Chicken breast + 1/4 cup Hunt's tomato sauce + 1 roma tomato + 2 basil leaves + 1 Frigo Light String Cheese

4 oz. Butternut squash + 1/2 tsp Pumpkin Pie spice + 1 TBSP Sugar Free Maple Syrup

SNACK
Boyfriend came home and I decided to join him with a seasonal selection from Blue Moon.  It was very yummy and I was such a light weight because after just one beer I was feelin a really nice buzz.

GYM: No gym :(

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day!!  I have crafted a very extensive "To Do" list and I HAVE TO finish it!!!  At least it will keep me running around!

Padres Friday

BREAKFAST:
I can't stop eating this!!!!!!  I used Silk Vanilla Soy milk instead of the usual Almond milk because it's been sitting in my fridge and about to go bad soon.  I think as soon as it's done, I'm done with soy and my heart belongs to the Almond milk.

1/2 cup Oats + 1 cup Silk Vanilla Soy Milk + 1/2 cup canned pumpkin + 1/2 TSP Pumpkin Pie Spice + 1 packet Splenda with Fiber

LUNCH:
A small spinach salad and two Gardenburgers on the side.  These have been recently reintroduced to my life.  I LOVE them at times and HATE them at others.  It all depends on how much I can taste the onions in them that day.  I HATE ONIONS!!
DINNER:
I did a smoothie dinner because I got a late start on the gym and didn't have enough time to get ready for work and make a feast.  I bought FRUITEIN Acai powder from Henry's and it is the BOMB!!!  Mixed it up with some Almond Breeze milk and some strawberries that were on there last leg and had an amazingly satisfying dinner that left me full!

1 cup Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk + 90 grams Strawberries + packet Acai powder

SNACK:
Freeze dried fruit!!  Best solution if you are like me and buy tons of produce only to let it go to waste because your eyes are bigger then your meal plan.  They sell this at Costco in bulk and I can't live without it.  The brand is Mrs. May's Naturals and it's a big sampler box that comes with Apple, Pear, and Strawberry.  My favorite is the pear!!!

GYM:
I actually got my a$$ to the gym today and it was GREAT....when it was over!!!  Ugh.  I did a little cardio on the step machine and treadmill and some light weights.  I wasn't in the mood for a long run.  Maybe tomorrow, maybe not.

PADRES FRIDAY!

I'm Back!

It's so hard to track throughout the weekend because I'm always on the go.  I left my computer in the car on Saturday night and didn't take it out until Wednesday.  It actually felt so good not to touch my computer for a few days.  I spend WAY too much time on the computer.

BREAKFAST:

A was feeling the Jewish bagel love this morning:)

Smoked Salmon + Philadelphia Fat Free Cream Cheese + 1/2 TBSP Capers + 100% Whole Wheat Bagel Thins
LUNCH:
I have been LOVING my daily Spinach salads!!  I will never eat iceberg lettuce again!!  These are so filling and yummers!!

3 oz. Foster Farms Honey Roasted Chicken Breast Strips + 3 cups Spinach + 144g. Strawberries + 4 TBSP Annie's Fat Free Mango Vinaigrette

DINNER:
Breakfast for dinner on a Shape Magazine!

Wheat Puffs + Almond Breeze Almond Milk + Cinnamon Peanut Butter + Cinnamon Splenda
